So I came to notice that we have found a way to connect the Wiimote to a PC and obtain the information on it, like Mii's and such. So from there we have the ability to trade information from the PC-Wiimote and the Wiimote-Wii. What if there was a way to cut the middle man out. Just hook the Wii straight to a PC and trade information that way, even making it a browsable device that could lead to installing linux on there.

Or we could possible decipher how to publish channels and make WiiLi a channel on the Wii Menu. How awesome would that be? Instead of a boot CD, just have Linux readily available all the time on your Wii.

I know there would be problems with size and such with the 512 limit, but manybe it could work.

But the main question is... Have we attempted to pair the Wii directly to a PC, or is that at all possible?

Well the 512 memory isn't that bad of an issue, as you could just put linux on an SD car (maybe?) I still don't know about going from Wii to PC. I assume that nintendo would take extra care to make sure you couldn't. Then whats stoping you from reading the internal memeory, someone making a hacked VC which can run any rom. That means a lot less money for Nintendo.

Interesting idea though. Installing Linux directly onto the wii.

its in the EULA that they have the right to delete any non ninty approved channels and such. A boot disk is the only way to do it legally.
