I've noticed that some games, such as PC ports of Melty Blood and Guilty Gear, as well as some emulators, decide what joysticks to use based on their order as reported by the Windows API. This order is visible in the game controllers control panel, and it appears to actually be alphabetical.

This means when using GlovePIE and ppjoy if you hook up 2 wiimotes you get a controller list like this:

Bluetooth HID Device
Bluetooth HID Device
PPjoy Virtual joystick 1
PPjoy Virtual joystick 2

This means that these poorly written programs are reading the two useless HID device joysticks in as player 1 and 2, and ignoring the useful joysticks.

I'm thinking that if the name of PPJoy's virtual joysticks could be changed that would be enough. For example, pre-pending the name with the joystick numeral so that it was at the top of the list. It also would appear that GlovePIE is defining the name of the joystick, so perhaps it needs to be changed from there?

I think having GlovePIE do keyboard emulation might be an alternative for these problem games, but I would personally prefer to use PPjoy if at all possible.

Has anyone dealt with this in the past?

In the joystick control panel, click "advanced".

This doesn't work with the most games that you can't choose the Joystick in a list. I've the same problem since I've connected my Wiimote for the first time, and never found anything that could help...

Even changing some values using the regedit haven't worked... Sad

Yeah, just thought I'd drop this question in this topic, but how does the whole PPJoy thing actually work, do I need anything extra for it? As the nunchuk doesn't seem to work in any programs, I assume this is the reason why.
