Does anyone have the very best script to use with MAME shooters like Area51, Terminator etc?
I have seen more than one joystick emulator script but they often "bounce around" too much to be as good as the original hardware from the arcade... |

I can't find Area51 anywhere online. I'd be up for writing this script..but I can't even figure out how the game works on MAME  |

Area51 is a CHD based mame game (which mean you need the larger hard drive image as well as the rom) so just having the rom is not sufficient to run the program.
But there are a lot of lightgun based shooters in Mame that I love:
Crossbow
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Alien3: The Gun
Tailgunner
I have tried playing all of them with a joystick script found online but it is not the same as playing them in the arcade: the wiimote often just goes off into nowhere... I suspect that a script could be written that relies BOTH on the IR AND the motion sensing to give a really great joystick emulator... |

| i have found Mame32v103b to be much smoother at controlling and it has sound on point blank, other versions of mame seemed too jerky and jumpy lke you said, and the best script i found was on page 41 of the script thhread. |
