is there a way (under winxp) to evaluate if ther accelerometers of my wiimote are really working as they should? (somtimes I seem to get unexpected results as well some lack of precision some times, which I used to dismiss as just an issue with the algorithm used on the gpie script) _________________ please put the scripts on the wiki so they dont get lost as new stuff is posted!
phpBB doesnt like me,somtimes it will forget to warn me about new replies to threads I asked it to,if you see a thread I should have responded, could please email me? |

that brings me back to the thought it is an issue with the algorithm, perhaps of gpie itself..... _________________ please put the scripts on the wiki so they dont get lost as new stuff is posted!

Try recalibrating you wiimote(s) if you haven't already. There is a GlovePIE bug with wiimote.roll (and possibly other data?) in scripts containing IR code when the wiimote has not been calibrated properly.
I am not totally sure but I think the reason behind this is if you have paired more than one wiimote with your computer. I think GlovePIE does not detect the appropriate wiimote order and assigns each the other's wiimote calibration settings which causes problems. |

only one wiimote, and I belive I've calibrated it right, including paying atention to leave the strap beyond the edge of the table, and still the values don't stay as close to zero as I owuld expect and somtimes they tend to do random big jumps out of no where _________________ please put the scripts on the wiki so they dont get lost as new stuff is posted!

Two days ago i (finally) bought a wiimote, and it has small jitter on X and Y. When placed on a surface, the values don't stay put. Just like a (used?) analog joystick.
Is this normal?
Maybe i should mention that otherwise they work as expected, measuring acceleration that is... And since Z is 'clean' (no jitter), there probably aren't any outside forces that might perturb gravity (like poltergeists)...
So, do other 'motes have this issue, or just mine? Thanks.. |

Well DMonk, I don't know if it's a problem, but mine does that too. Not big jumps or anything, just lying on a flat surface the X and Y values will shift back and forth between two close values, like from 89 to 8A and back to 89, etc. I believe the accelerometers mut have some sort of "noise" that can't be filtered out in a 40dls device?
Maybe it's the way they are positioned, because like you said, the Z values are stable . |
