It should be possible eventually. |

Hello! This is my first post and I hope it'll be useful!
I'm from Italy, so sorry for my poor english!
I've found a phpBB poll hack (2.0.20-compatible) that should be useful at least as a starting point, here are the specs:
| Quote: |
Multivote Mod
* Multiple choice voting in phpBB polls features: Use of 'checkboxes' instead of 'radio buttons'.
* The person that creates the poll decides of the maximum allowed options to be selected.
* Users-voters are automatically notified of the max allowed choices.
* When only 1 choice is allowed, 'radio buttons' are automatically used.
* Can set poll expiration within hours.
* Time left to poll expiration appears when viewing poll results page.
* Choose whether to hide results till poll expires or not
* If 'hide results' is enabled, you can choose whether total number of votes will be visible or not

| I think it would be great if there where some kind of simple painting application that made use of the pointing functionality of the wiimote. |

Remember it has to be GPL. Compiling on a non-PC system is pretty extraordinary. Something like amsn would be great, as it has the "draw" chat feature and could make a plugin for it to use pictochat or something whacky.
As for MythTV and friends, how are you goign to get a TV card/PVR box into the Wii? Think simple thin email client/web browser. Not a whole lot else you could do with it. |

Id like to see Firefox + Thunderbird, along with Amarok and NFS support. Definitly need it if youre going to be running mp3s and movies and such over a network. As for a movie player, Id say something in the KDE lot, as KDE will be the best for this project, imho. Its got a great bluetooth subsystem and can be themed to look real nice.
If possible, Beryl. But thats a LONG way off! |

KDE would use up to much resources. The Wii is a fairly modest machine. 3D acceleration might be possible, but it would require a proper driver for the GPU, which is somewhere between really hard and impossible to make.
mythTV would be swiit, but it might be to much for the machine too. Never the less, bittorrent and media streaming are probably the most wanted apps, and I'm sure there would be a way to pull it off without killing the Wii to much. |
