|
|
I've just gone home for Christmas and we don't have a wireless router. I do however have a NetGear USB WiFi dongle which I can plug into my wired-internet PC and connect my sister's laptop to wirelessly for internet usage etc.
Is there any way, be it hacked drivers or other workaround, to let my Wii see this ad-hoc connection too, and use it for Connect24 etc? I know the dongle's not the certified Nintendo one, but I really wanna try the new browser!
p.s. sorry if this is in the wrong section; mods feel free to move. |

It's ok. I'm moving this to General in offtopic. Anyway...
I'm assuming the Wii can't see it as a wireless access point in the connect settings screen? _________________ -deceased-

I'm getting pro at typing now. At first though I was horrible. I took me about 3 minutes to input my wireless password
peanutismint: any luck inputting the SSID, or locating the access point? Or does anyone know if you can use non-Nintendo USB Wifi's? _________________ -deceased-

| I'll just say you cant do it unless you have a wifi dongle that uses the Ralink chipset. I spent days trying to get the hacked drivers for that to work, and they are dongle specific. If you're really interested, i could try to find all the links that i spent like hours researching for, but basically, unless your's is a Ralink chipset, it cannot be done. |

I'm having the same problem (also have a DWL-G122 dongle). My Wii can see my adhoc ssid but is unable to connect. Has anyone got it working/advice?
Thanks |
