That would not make any sence. Linux is the best OS to fit on Wii, for the specs and joy. I'm using Mac OS X, but I don't think Mac OS X would run on that low ram. Older versions would just not make sence, since Linux is better fitted. Linux allso run on lower specs, it's free and it's good. For Windows's part, nothing good come out.
Some filthy sentences there. |

Nobody said anything about pirating windows, they just asked if it would be possible to get windows or mac OS to run on the Wii.
Someone already mention the old version of NT. I'm not sure it was even released. There was win 3.11 which some people had for powerpc but it was never popular and even back then most people didn't think of it as useful. Newer versions of Mac OS are built for intel processors and won't run on powerpc based procs anymore. It might be possible to get an older version running but it would be an ugly hack and terribly unstable. Mac OS was designed with specific bits of hardware in mind and written accordingly.
Linux is open ended in nature and most software on it is written to be portable to different architectures. Often it is just a matter of waiting on a recompile for the target processor type. So as long as there is a way of dealing with the boot security on the Wii (or by some miracle getting it sanctioned as a legit project) in relative terms it should be fairly simple to port major parts of any number of different major Linux distros and drop them right into place.
So it comes down to this? Do you want an old hacked and buggy version of Windows or Mac OS, or would you prefer a modern OS actually written to work correctly with the hardware it is running on? |

Windows on Wii!!! that too XP!!! you must be crazy...
first thing, I don't think it will be possible... let me think 733 Mhz IBM Broadway with 88MB RAM... you can decide yourself as my XP doesn't even run stable at 1.5 GHz and 1GB RAM at times
and second more important point, whats the need and who really needs Windows!!! as people already said... keep it away... |
