I'd say it's ok here since Wiiconnect 24 is how the updates are sent out. However, the forum description says "Trade numbers," so unless Tuxido feels the purpose of the forum should change, it may get moved to the General forum under offtopic.
That being said, I'm hoping for USB keyboard support the most. That'll make browsing easier to do. Also, I'm really hoping the YouTube support is there (meaning Flash is working) and Javascripts so I can digg on my Wii. I'll also be on the forums on my Wii, or at least try it. Just for kicks. I don't see the purpose of the external hard drive yet, since I don't think you'll be able to download things/why you'd want to. Anyway, eventually I'd want that, but now is not important.
One thing unrelated that I think would be sweet is screen capturing available in any game. Since you can pause the Wii with home at almost anytime, I want an option that allows you to press home and then select "Take Photo" or the like and it saves an image file to your drive, viewable in the Photo Channel and able for you to e-mail it. _________________ -deceased-

it doesn't say much about the browser really, i mean all it talks about is what you can use it for lol
this is the beta though,
so maybe its a feature they are working on?
edit:
well i was looking on the opera forums,
which is almost tottaly unrestricted which is weird
http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=170805
read the full release! the short one is stupid
but yeah nintedo rejected the stable builds of opera wii even though they had it in time for launch! WHY!!!

Several key features are expected to be nerfed from the trial build. Most notably, full Javascript support. From what we've heard, part of the Opera Wii Browser QA issue is that several areas in the Wii's architecture can be exploited through Javascript, and Nintendo wants Opera to patch that before any release. Nintendo's so worried about potential violations and exposures of the Wii software, they're playing it safe. |
if we had pretended you can't access the shop channel and go to internet pages WE COULD HAVE EXPLOITED THESE! and then we could have got wiili working a lot faster and start work sooner
i think we should try to hack the shop channel again lol |

I know what I'm using it for...just hope there's picture and video support.
Yup, read this on digg...but still has some nice info, assuming it's legit, which it is reasonable enough to be. _________________ -deceased-

Wonder what settings there will be as far as cookie handling and cache. Ideally you'd want to cache pages while using the browser so you don't constantly reload when you hit the "back" button but clear the cache on exit. _________________ http://www.eviltechmonkey.com |
