That's the problem, then - CWiid/doc/wminput isn't a valid config file, it's just a list of button and axis identifiers, as described in the in Cwiid/wminput/README .
I can see how that'd be confusing, though, given that CWiid/doc/wminput.conf was a configuration in previous versions - I'll change the filename or something. _________________ "I seldom let practicality get in the way of my fascination with shiny things and blinky lights."

I guess I should have bothered to glance at the file contents for more than a split-second.
So you're no longer including an example/template configuration file? Even though wminput looks for a default file that isn't there and isn't provided for other than a few lines in the readme that say "make this"?
Well, that's up to you...
In my opinion, you should AT LEAST provide a template file that that user can edit along with a friendly error message directing the user in what to do when they try to run wminput without the default file in place. |

Well, if you actually install CWiid as intended, default does exist
I'll do something more useful with doc/wminput _________________ "I seldom let practicality get in the way of my fascination with shiny things and blinky lights."

First, thanks for spending so much time in this project.
Second, a note to all Fedora users: All distributions(edit: as far as core 6) come with an ancient flex version (2.5.4) that doesnt work with CWiid. But the not yet released core 7 will have the newest version, it can be downloaded and installed with yum: 2.5.33 -4.fc7. It took a while before i figured out that i needed a newer version. Adding version nr to the requirement list could be a future feature.
Last: Whe I finally got it to compile i cannot get it to connect to my wiimote. It does find it but both the gui and the demo gives me this error msg to stdout: "Error establishing control channel connection" Ive tried to change some bluetooth settings with no luck. What are the possible causes for this? |

Yeah, someone informed me of the flex issue a couple days ago - I didn't realize I was using new features. The next configure script will check for it. Anybody know the oldest flex version that implements yy{pop,push}_buffer_state?
For some reason, some machines have trouble searching for wiimotes - try specifying the wiimote's address on the command-line or in the environment variable WIIMOTE_BDADDR. _________________ "I seldom let practicality get in the way of my fascination with shiny things and blinky lights."
